(More customer reviews)Since the dawn of time (or since I came into the world at least), my father has been a raging Dolphins fan. And since the dawn of my first job, and being able to buy my own Christmas presents, I have always bought him at least one Dolphin hat for his birthday and Christmas. He collects them, his upstairs family room is a shrine to Dolphin hats...I'm talking walls covered with shelves of hats, and most of these he wears 5-10 times, then retires it. Only certain hats pass the test though, the "one size fits all" hats are a big no-no. Only the adjustable hats were ever allowed to grace his cranium.
I'm now 24, and thus, have bought many many hats for him over the last 10+ years. Enter this "Tattered Patch Slouch Fit" hat. I bought it last year for him for Christmas. It went over like every other hat, he was excited to have a new design to wear for a few months before he put it up, like always.
However, I noticed this one on his head alot more often than any of the others. Months went by, and he was still wearing it... Around October, (about 10 months after he was originally gifted it) when I went to drop off my daughter to Gma and Gpa's, after seeing the hat still on - I just had to ask what gives. He laughed and said it was his favorite hat he'd ever had. Not so much the design, but comfort wise, he said it was the most comfortable hat he'd ever owned. That means alot, seeing as this man gets on avg 5-6 hats a year from us (his five kids) and his wife. You may be thinking "he just said that to make you feel good about your gift." No. Absolutely not. I've given him hats before that he'd take one look at, and say either it wasn't the right fit, or design, and it would be better for me to get my money back. Don't think him rude, that's just how he is.
That being said: I totally recommend this hat. It's been on my father's head for almost a year now, and that just doesn't happen. Something has to be awesome about this hat. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I can tell you whoever you're buying it for will probably thank you for such a comfortable hat. =)
