(More customer reviews)I have greatly enjoyed my SK-7. It works quite well even at significant angles that would lock the card on my other compasses. It is quite robust and has never failed me except in one dive where I had inadvertantly dropped it on the pavement. The compass card was jarred off its moorings and obviously would not turn.
After the dive, I took the compass off and gave it a hefty rap on the side, by which I jarred the card enough to snap back into its proper position. The compass was not at all the worse for wear from having been significantly jarred not once but twice (once by an accident, and once intentionally).
The compass has continued to serve me very well for dozens of dives since then, and I am more careful about not dropping precision instruments these days, even though I have little fear of permanently damaging my compass.
