Durable covers and all of this in a pocket size. Why struggle with folding and unfolding a large map.
The only drawback that I could see might be the small print. However, the compact design allows you to get a good idea of where landmarks are located and their proximity to each other. Even though the maps are compact, they provide a lot of detail and contain all of the most popular landmarks and destinations.
