(More customer reviews)I bought this jersey on another site but wanted to provide some feedback for potential buyers. I am going to return it and want to explain:
It looks OK...for a replica. The stitched letters/numbers are much thinner than the authentic originals I looked at in the Giants Dugout, which is to be expected for the $100+ price difference. The pricy originals are no longer available in my size or I'd splurge for one of those!
The problem I have is that the letters/numbers are just a patch with what appears to be a gold glitter glued/fused to its surface. Fresh out of the package, there already looked to be spots where the glitter had come off or was thinning. I fear what will happen to this after a few washings.
Also, it has the player's name on the back (POSEY) which is odd because the Giants home jerseys, including this ring presentation rendition, do not have the players names on them. I verified this by looking at photos of the ring presentation. Maybe that's nit picky, but I thought it was odd.
The jersey material is also thinner, and likely less durable than the authentic variety (but everyone has their own budget, right?)
So I decided I am going to return this for a either an authentic every day jersey (minus player #) for about $170 or get a replica every day jersey. If I thought the glitter effect on the numbers/letters was more durable, I would keep this.
